Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
via press release   After a tough road loss to the Ohio Machine, the Florida Launch hope to regain momentum this weekend against league rival, the New York Lizards. With a tied all-time series record, the Launch hope to gain the advantage with a reloaded roster from last week’s MLL Collegiate Draft. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at James M. Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, NY. Follow the Launch on Twitter for live updates (@florida_launch). “I think the one thing new guys bring is new blood, new energy. It brings some excitement, and they bring competition. They get guys on their toes a little bit, which is what we need at this level,” said coach Tom Mariano to Lax Sports Network. With twelve new draftees, including Brown University attackman and first overall pick Dylan Molloy, Florida is set to have an added boost for the rest of the season. Even with the injection of fresh talent, coach Mariano is adamant about being prepared for this week’s matchup. “I mean, they’re [New York] really talented on offense. They’ve got an all-star lineup. We need to get better. We added some new guys, but the expectation doesn’t change. We have to improve,” said Mariano. Next week, the Launch return home where they will host the Lizards at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now through floridalaunchlacrosse.com or by calling 561-923-9067.
