On January 12th the Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation is offering it’s 8th annual Pre-Season Lacrosse Goalie School.
Each January the Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, presents and underwrites a Goalie School. To date the FYLF has donated over $220,800 to lacrosse programs in our state.
We spoke with Board Member and Goalie School Director Don Goldstein about the free coach’s training. He said, “With qualified goalie instructors in such short supply, over the years we have found we can leverage the impact we have by instructing as many coaches as we can reach.”
As hard as it is to believe in this day of the big money grab in our sport, these guys really want to help you become a better coach and they are doing it for FREE! This year they are bringing in Coach Sean Quirk of Endicott College as field director. In addition to being named the D3 NCAA coach of the year in 2008 he is also a former NCAA goalie of the year. Not a bad guy to teach you how to be a better goalie coach. For free.
Player registration is only $60 for the day of training. There will be a stick evaluation and help with stringing sticks and supplies available.
