We got a chance to see Evan play during the spring when he led Bishop Moore to a ten goal first half against Timber Creek en route to a 15-8 victory. We knew then that Evan is a special kind of athlete and he is a no-brainer to include in our list of top uncommitted seniors. This kid is going to be a great find for the right team. We asked his head coach, Reed Reynolds, to tell us a little about Evan from his perspective.
“Some leaders just have a presence about them. They walk into a room or step on a field and you just know that they have something special. Evan Kachris is one of these individuals. Evan is a very driven, hard-working player and person, very capable of playing at the next level. He is very coachable and is always pushing himself and teammates to find that extra edge to become a better player.Evan started playing lacrosse at age 3 and grew up playing in Buffalo and Rochester, NY while also crossing over into nearby Fort Erie, ON (Canada) to play box from time to time. This background has helped him excel at Bishop Moore Catholic High School after moving to Florida before high school. Evan has been a 3 year starter at Attack and enters his senior year after being a Team Captain and Team MVP who lead Bishop Moore in Goals and Points in 2014. Evan also participated in the Baltimore Summer Kick Off this summer with the Florida National Lacrosse team in which he made the All-Star team of the entire tournament.”

FLN – What kind of college experience you are looking for?
EK -I am interested in studying Management/Business at an academically competitive small to mid-sized university. I envision myself playing lacrosse at this school and that it is a competitive lacrosse program.
FLN – What camps, teams, or clinics are on your schedule for the rest of the off season?
EK – Under Armour Shootout with Florida National Elite, National 175 Summer Showcase at RPI
FLN – How would you describe your game?
EK – Fast Paced and Relentless. I can settle the ball down then suddenly have a quick explosive dodge to beat my defenseman. I am unpredictable to cover and hustle my hardest to become the best player I can be.
FLN – What Was Your First Lacrosse Experience?
Evan works against Lake Brantley
EK -Playing for the Fort Erie Hawks box league in Ontario Canada when I was 3. I would travel from Buffalo to Fort Erie for practices and games. I was the youngest and smallest kid on my team, so at the end of my first year I received the No Fear Trophy which is still in my room today.
FLN – Who Was Your Biggest Lacrosse Influence?
EK – Many coaches and family members have been big influences in my lacrosse career so far. Coach John Hayes (Played at Hobart) and Coach Brendan Porter (Played at Rutgers and now plays for the Boston Cannons) in my 8th grade season gave me the chance to play at the JV level when I attended McQuaid Jesuit in Rochester, NY which was a turning point for me because they made me realize I can have a real future in lacrosse. In my High School years thus far, Coach Hogan (Florida), Coach Robinson (Gettysburg), Coach Burnam (Syracuse), and my current Head High School coach Reed Reynolds (Utica) have all pushed me to my fullest potential to become the player I am today. Coach Reynolds’ complete dedication to Bishop Moore Lacrosse whether on the field, off the field, or in the weight room is tremendous support structure. In my family, I have had uncles and cousins play at Navy, Villanova, Towson and Siena. They were the ones who introduced me to lacrosse as I grew up watching them play.
FLN – Which College/Pro Players Do You Like Watching The Most?
EK – I enjoy watching the Thompson’s finesse and creativity to the game at the College level, but in the Pro’s I enjoy watching Kevin Leveille and Rob Pannell.
FLN – What Is Your Lacrosse Goal For the 2015 season?
EK – My goal for the 2015 season is to lead Bishop Moore to a District and State Championship by being the best player and teammate I can be.
FLN – What would you like your teammates to say about you?
EK – I would like for them to say that I am a leader who pushes every teammate to their full potential to become a synchronous unit. I like to bring the best out of everyone on and off the field.
