Delray Beach, Fla. (August 29, 2012) – ELEV|8 Sports Institute, which recently announced the addition of lacrosse to its menu of sports, has just added another major component adding even more expertise to their coaching staff. The world class lacrosse program at ELEV|8 is led by Executive Director Tony Lowe and has now named Jeff Goldberg as Director of Coaching. Lowe and Goldberg have a combined forty years coaching experience and will work together to continue building an elite lacrosse program. ELEV|8 lacrosse includes training camps, competitive team play, individual training, and a nine month residential academy.
Goldberg has a rich history in the sport of lacrosse most recently as founder and director of Premier Players Lacrosse. Premier Players Lacrosse offered team and individual player training with a focus on player development. ELEV|8 Sports Institute will host Premier Players Lacrosse pairing two of the most experienced lacrosse coaches in the Southeast region together.
Goldberg has enjoyed one of the most successful lacrosse careers in the sport, both as a player and a coach. As a player he earned a full scholarship to North Carolina State, played for Team USA in 1986, and was a two time World Champion playing professionally with the New York Saints and the Detroit Turbos. In 1988 he was named MVP of the World Championship game with the New York Saints. As a coach, Goldberg has had an impact at all levels of the sport. He has served as coach for Team Japan in the World Lacrosse Games, Assistant Head Coach at Division I Michigan State University and as Head Coach at Division III Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy. Most recently he served as Head Coach at St. Andrew’s School where in 2006 he was inducted into the prestigious 300 win club, with his win total now sitting at 391 games. Goldberg will be the Offensive Coordinator for Team Israel in the 2014 World Games. He has coached 45 High School All Americans and currently has thirty of his former players competing at the collegiate level.
“Coach Goldberg’s success speaks for itself and we are very excited about what he brings to the ELEV|8 staff. He has shown the ability and passion to get the most out of the athletes he coaches and has a track record of helping them to elevate their game to new heights,” said Tony Lowe, Executive Director of Lacrosse. “His experience at all levels of the game makes him a perfect fit with our focus on individual player development.”
“Throughout all my years of coaching I have yet to see a training system for lacrosse players like what exists here at ELEV|8 Sports Institute,” said Coach Goldberg. “I think what is being created here is going to be very special for lacrosse and I’m eager to get started working with the ELEV|8 athletes.”
