ITL – A Look At Mark McNeill of the Launch!

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
info gathered via the Launch web site and other sources   Author’s Note:  We will use the acronym ITL for Inside The Launch to introduce players and other human interest stories from the team!  Here’s a look at Mark McNeill, whom the Launch acquired in the blockbuster Thompson trade. Mark McNeill was a standout player for UNC (as a two-sport athlete, having played for the football team too) and was originally drafted as the 50th overall player selected in 2014 by the Chesapeake Bayhawks.  He played four games in 2014 and 9 in 2015, putting up 1G/1A each season.     McNeill did not see any action in 2016 and when the Launch decided to move Lyle and Myles Thompson for the 8th overall pick, Mark and Mike Lowe were also included coming back to Florida. Mark has played all four games so far this year, mostly in a defensive middie role, and has contributed 10 ground balls to the team.   A trip down memory lane for Mark . . . he’s #21 who swoops in about halfway through the clip.     Mark ends up scoring the clinching goal for St. Mary’s in their MIAA playoff game with Loyola Blakefield . . .
