JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—The Jacksonville University women’s lacrosse team heads to Kennesaw State on Saturday, April 18, hoping to clinch part of the regular season title and the top-seed in the Atlantic Sun tournament. The first draw is scheduled for 1 p.m., at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
“We are so excited to compete for our fifth regular season title at Kennesaw’s wonderful stadium,” said Head Coach Mindy McCord. “Our goal is to continue to refine our game so we can finish strong as a team.”
The Dolphins enter the game with a 13-2 overall record (5-0 in Atlantic Sun). Earlier this week, Caitlin McMahon was named the A-Sun’s Player of the Week after filling the stat sheet in the 21-6 victory over Mercer. McMahon tallied six draw controls, four goals on four shots, two groundballs, one assist and a caused turnover.
Jacksonville has six national top 5 rankings including a No. 1 stat in groundballs per game (23.87).
Kennesaw State comes into the game with a 4-11 overall record (1-4 in A-Sun). In their last outing, the Owls dropped a 12-10 decision to Stetson last weekend. Elaine Bradley set a career-high with 13 saves. In conference standings, KSU ranks second with 178 draw controls and ranks third in groundballs with 273. Sydney Farwick leads the team with 34 goals and Taylor McGhee with 26 goals.
Jacksonville closes the regular season out at Stetson on Friday, April 24 at 6 p.m.
