Jupiter Posts Solid Win At Martin County

Thanks to Penny Brennalt for the beautiful photos It was a tough night for junior Martin County goalie and Delaware commit Eric Simon (above, clearing and being chased by Jesse Foertmeyer).  It was tough because he did not make enough saves to keep a fine Jupiter team from scoring more than two goals.  That, of course, is a tall order for any keeper.  Eric is another one of the outstanding goalies to hail from the Sunshine State, just like his opponent, Jupiter’s Bryant commit Viper Scheele.  There’s something in the goalie water down here.  Jupiter played a complete game on both ends, holding Martin County to only three, scored by Owen Anderson, Luke Kendall and Scott Beck.

Jupiter jumped out to an early lead, 5-0 after the first, 8-0 at the half and never looked back for a final 13-3 margin.  Michael Dean (one assist) and Sean Denes had hat tricks and Davis Yates potted two for the Warriors.  On the defensive side, Tanner Gabriel scooped five ground balls and had four takeaways.  We need more defensive stats!  Defense wins championships… Martin County takes spring break before hosting Melbourne Central Catholic on March 27.  Before the play-offs, the Tigers host Oxbridge, Spanish River and Benjamin.  Jupiter continues its difficult schedule, going to Naples to play Barron Collier this Saturday, followed by Benjamin, Palm Beach Gardens, Vero Beach and St. Thomas Aquinas.
