Jupiter Wins Home Game 11-3 Over Wellington

On Tuesday February 28, 2013, these two undefeated teams faced off on a warm and humid mid-winter South Florida evening. Wellington opened the game with a goal by Jason D’Aoust assisted by Tyler Kuhlman. Jesse Foertmeyer of Jupiter then tied the game with an unassisted goal. Wellington goalie Logan Masta had 6 saves in the first quarter, and then Daniel Soviero of Jupiter scored the go-ahead goal with ten seconds left, unassisted.
Jupiter opened the second quarter with two unassisted goals by Zach Crotty. Logan Masta continued his strong play with 7 additional saves. Patrick Oporto of Wellington scored with 48 seconds left, for a halftime score of 4-2 in favor of Jupiter.
After the break, Jupiter went on a 4-0 run, with a goal by Ben White assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer, an unassisted goal by Craig Coughlin, a goal by Jesse Foertmeyer assisted by Craig Coughlin and another unassisted goal by Zach Crotty. Logan Masta had another 5 saves in the third quarter.
In the fourth, Kevin Fallon scored for Jupiter assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer, followed by a Brandon Scheele goal, also assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer. Ben Yetman scored Jupiter’s final goal, with an assist by James Holdt. Wellington then answered with a goal by Allen Moye assisted by Hunter Dietz. Logan Masta recorded 4 more saves for a total of 22 on the night.
Defensively for the Warriors, Shane Bogue had 4 ground balls and 1 takeaway, Connor Alexander had 2 ground balls and 2 takeaways and John Flanary had 2 ground balls and 2 takeaways. Craig Coughlin played well on defense with 3 ground balls and 2 takeaways, as did Jesse Foertmeyer with 3 ground balls and 1 takeaway. Jupiter goalie Viper Scheele had 6 saves and 4 ground balls and older brother Brandon Scheele had a great night facing off with an 11-2 record and 6 ground balls.
Both teams have road games coming up as Wellington plays at Park Vista on Friday, March 1 and Jupiter travels to Jensen Beach on Wednesday, March 6.
