Lake Brantley Opens Season With Easy Win Over Lake Howell

Lake Brantley faced Lake Howell in this Seminole Athletic Conference season opener and cruised to victory 27-0.  Lake Brantley showed why they are being considered for a possible long playoff run by dominating all facets of the game.  Coach Brian Theiss is looking to prepare his team for the playoff season as the schedule really doesn’t hit its main difficulty until later on.
An evenly balanced attack by both attack men and midfielders left the Silver Hawks keeper busy all night.   Brantley’s Tim Gehlbach had 4 goals and 1 assist, Ryan Crowley had 4 goals, Austin Guerrina had 4 goals and 1 assist, Jared Bernhardt had 3 goals and 3 assists and Jon McKenna had 2 goals.  Hiram Carter led a strong Brantley defense with caused turnovers and 7 ground balls.

Lake Howell is coming off a 3-12 season last year under Coach Bill Pyatt.  They are facing their two toughest opponents in their first three games this year so they will be looking to improve upon last year as the season progresses.
Lake Brantley will play at Dr. Phillips Friday night the 21st.
Lake Howell will play their home opener against East Ridge on Friday.
