Lake Highland Holds On For 8-6 Win Over Hagerty

Apr. 9th – Lake Highland (12-5; 4-0 District 11) returned home to celebrate Senior night this evening and along the way edged the visiting Hagerty Huskies by a final score of 8-6.  Three of the LHP Seniors provided all of the necessary offensive firepower including Attackman Billy Roll (3G, 4A), Midfielder Devon Lewis (3G, 1A) and Attackman Clay Phillips (2G, 1A).  The game was marked by scoring streaks by both teams.  After the Highlanders scored the contest’s first two goals, the Huskies reeled off four straight goals to take a 4-2 lead with 1:55 left in the second quarter.  Lake Highland would record the next five goals while holding Hagerty scoreless over a 16:03 span from the end of the second quarter until well into the final period.  The sides would trade goals the rest of the way.  Junior Goalie Adam Sawicki was outstanding between the pipes for the Highlanders, recording 12 saves on the evening, including eight in the final quarter.  Junior Max Parker again excelled at the face-off X, winning 14 of 15 draws.  Six different players scored for Hagerty.  Lake Highland stays at home this week, hosting Lake Brantley on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
