Lake Highland Opens With 21-9 Win Over Oviedo

Above Photo courtesy of Roger Farwell at Enstone Images Feb. 18th – Lake Highland (1-0; 0-0 District 11) opened the 2013 season tonight with a convincing 21-9 win over the visiting Oviedo Lions.  Eleven different Highlanders found the back of the net led by Senior Attackmen Billy Roll (4G, 5A) and Clay Phillips (4G, 2A).  Even Goalie Adam Sawicki and Defender Casey Irish got in on the scoring.  LHP opened up a 13-4 lead at the half and much of the 4th quarter was played under a running clock.  After a slow start, Lake Highland controlled the face-off X, winning 20 of 31 draws (64.5%) for the evening.  The victory marked a milestone for the Highlanders; entering just their seventh season as a varsity program, the win this evening was number 100 for the program.  Lake Highland next visits Ponte Vedra this Wednesday evening.
