(Mar. 28th) – Thank goodness for field turf! In a steady downpour, Lake Highland (10-1; 5-0 district) defeated the host Patriots of Lake Brantley 15-5 to record their sixth straight victory in front of a small, wet group of fans. Both teams battled bravely against each other and the elements all evening. Lake Brantley seemed more comfortable in the early going, taking a 1-0 lead 70 seconds into the contest. The Highlanders found their rhythm quickly and scored three unanswered goals and closed out the period with a man-up goal from senior captain and game leading scorer Nick St. Laurent. The teams traded goals over the first 9 plus minutes of the second period before LHP went on a tear and scored four goals in the last 2:30 of the quarter including a face-off win and dash to the goal as time expired by Junior Davis Anderson. Lake Highland held a 9-3 advantage after the first two periods. The third quarter was closely played with both teams taking numerous penalties. After three, LHP lead 11-4. The Highlanders pulled away in the 4th for the win. Lake Highland next hosts the O-Town Showdown this coming weekend with games against Winter Park Friday evening and Timber Creek Saturday afternoon. LHP Goals-Assists-Total Points St. Laurent 3-2-5; Lewis 3-1-4; Tamayo 1-3-4; Rotatori 1-2-3; Anderson 1-2-3; C. Phillips 2-0-2; Clark 1-1-2; E.
