Lake Mary Over Lake Brantley 8-4 In Televised Game

Lake Brantley faced their cross county rival, Lake Mary, Tuesday night on Lake Brantley’s home field. This game is a historic rivalry between two top programs in the states. The game was covered and broadcast live by Bright House Sports with Jeff Radcliffe and Coach John Drehoff providing the play by play and color commentary from the booth and on the field. Sisco scoring in the first minute of the game. Lake Brantley answered back later in the first quarter with Peter Yip making a dodge toward the crease and scoring with 45 seconds left in the first quarter. The first quarter ended even with one goal each as the teams sized each other up.
The second quarter showed Lake Mary had found an opening in Lake Brantley defense and scored four more goals to Lake Brantley’s one. Kurt Sisco led Lake Mary’s second quarter charge assisted by Ben Carbone and Josh Marmetschke scoring with a wicked shot. Lake Mary’s defense looked strong and was led by Senior Evan Griffiths and anchored by Junior Goalie Chandler Harrison.
The third and four quarters were ruled by the defenses of both teams limiting the goals to one for Brantley in the third and four and two in the third and one the in fourth for Lake Mary. The game ended with a victory for Lake Mary 8-4. In analysis of the game the two teams were evenly matched looking at the game statistics. Lake Mary took 29 shots and Lake Brantley took 25 shots. Goalie saves were 10 for Lake Mary and 12 for Lake Brantley. Face offs were almost 50/50. Brantley did pick up two more penalties than Lake Mary. Lake Mary capitalized on one of those EMO and Brantley did not during their opportunity. Even ground balls were close with Brantley getting 31 and Lake Mary picking up 32. The key difference was in the quality of the shots being made and scoring.
Lake Brantley will face Winter Springs on Monday night the 7th and the Georgia power house Centennial on Tuesday the 8th. Lake Mary will also face Centennial, GA this Friday the 4th.
