The Landsharks are part of the rising tide of lacrosse from the Space Coast.  The Landsharks team is part of the Surfside Lacrosse Academy started by Director Tim King and Assistant Director Ryan McAleavey (Assistatant and Head Coach at Florida Tech.) The club is made up of some solid players from one of last seasons surprise teams Melbourne Central Catholic and other Brevard County schools.  Brevard may not be the first place Florida lacrosse enthusiast think of, but these guys have played very well all summer and fall.  They made the semi-finals at the Vet’s cup and this week have taken the top seed in their pool after going 2-1 on the first day of play at the Orlando Lacrosse Open.

Braveheart is, not surprisingly, the top seed in their pool with a 3-0 record and Xtreme are also 3-0 and the top seed in pool 3. Playoffs start today at 1:05 at UCF with a round of games that includes yet another Lake Mary vs Ponte Vedra match up.  These two teams have run into each other often this fall and are no doubt going to be in the mix to advance to the FHSAA final fours this spring coming out of the North bracket.
