Having watched the game online yesterday I would highly recommend that our readers catch a replay on ESPN3 if they can.

Lyle Thompson continued his hot play with 6 goals, making it 13 total against Charlotte the past two weeks. Miles Thompson chipped in 5 goals too.
Lyle scored the game winner in OT after a key Chris Mattes faceoff win and the opening possession of OT resulted in drawing a penalty. The restart showed a pick set up top by Connor Buczek and when the Charlotte defender was rubbed off Lyle was able to get an open look from about 10 yards straight away and buried the EMO shot.
Florida moves to 4-8 with the win and their playoff hopes are still alive, although they will need a Chesapeake win over Rochester today to keep their slim hopes alive. The outstanding rookie class has now gotten comfortable with the MLL and combined with the other young talent and key veterans have completely turned their season around.
Next week’s game against Denver on the road will see the Launch face the defending MLL champs with a chip on their shoulder, as Denver was eliminated from the playoff run Friday, a rarity in this league for a defending champion.
