In a hard fought battle with the Providence Stallions, Leon overcame a 6-2 halftime deficit to pull off an exciting 8-7 come from behind victory. Leon jumped out to an early 2 goal lead in the first quarter with goals from Quentin Parker and Trevor McCall, only to be answered by Providence ending the first quarter tied at 2-2. Midfielder Quentin Parker took a big hit late in the first quarter and sat out the rest of the first half. Providence proceeded to go on a 4 goal run and ended the first half up 6-2. The lions opened up the second half scoring with a fast break goal from Trey Schulte (assisted by Danny Manausa). The lions tallied another goal from Danny Manausa as they capitalized on man-up possession. Providence quickly answered with a man-up goal of their own, bringing the score to 7-4 in their favor. From their it was all Leon, Quentin Parker took over scoring 3 goals, with Danny Manausa adding one as well. Leon ran the final two and a half minutes off the clock to secure the victory. Without a great game in the net from senior goalie Kyle Long (12 saves, including a couple right on the doorstep) this game easily could have gone the other way for Providence.
