BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn University lacrosse head coach Brian Kingsbury and a staff of assistant coaches and players hosted its first overnight camp this week and found much success. A total of 43 campers combined for the overnight, day and half-day lacrosse camp that was held at Bobby Campbell Stadium, home of the Fighting Knights, from Monday, June 22, to Thursday, June 25.
“It was great to see Lynn’s lacrosse team instructing the basics of lacrosse to boys from 1st-9th grade,” said Kingsbury. “Overall, we have received positive feedback from players and parents and will continue to take this feedback into consideration to iron out some of those first-year wrinkles in preparation for next year’s camp.”
The camp was instructional based that taught the quick-growing sport of lacrosse through games and drills. With a 7:1 staff to camper ratio, each attendee was given the opportunity to learn lacrosse in a fast-paced, safe environment.
The coaching staff will next host an ID Camp on Saturday, July 25, from 8:30am – 4:00pm that will target high school aged lacrosse players in an instructional but mostly game oriented camp. There will be two lacrosse sessions, a pool session, lunch, a campus tour and NCAA compliance education during the day. Registration is still open and costs $125 per camper.
Additionally, Lynn lacrosse will host FREE Lacrosse Clinics on Saturdays this fall (9/26, 10/3, 10/17, 10/24). This is the second year of Lynn’s free fall lacrosse clinics that campers of all ages, including parents, can learn the basics of lacrosse from the only college lacrosse coaches and team in South Florida.
