Mandarin gets by Menendez 9-7

The Mustangs got the lead early in the first 2 minutes of the game and maintained the lead throughout the game. Menendez rallied in the second half and brought the game to within 2 goals in the last few minutes of the game.  Zach Westpheling played a solid second half in goal for Menendez. The late rally was not enough to overtake the Mustangs as Mandarin controlled the ball most of the game thanks in part to excellent face-offs by Dalton Groff (5 for 7) and Blake Weil (8 for 12). The Mandarin defense did a great job of locking off Nick Argitis, leading scorer for Menedez last season, by holding him to only 2 goals. Mandarin Middie Adrian Silvia led all players in scoring with 4 goals. Bryce Mullins added 3 goals and middie Blake Weil scored 2 goals. The Menendez scoring was done by Adam Burkholder and  Nick Argitis who had two each.  Robert Miner, Spencer Sargent and Daniel Chamber had one goal each.
