Meet Lake Nona’s New Head Coach – Anthony Biondo

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
I grew up in Long Island, NY where I started playing in the 5th grade.  I played all through HS for Coach Bob Macaluso up in New York.  I was fortunate to play for a very good program which made apperances in the State Championships for NY Class A.  I moved down to Florida and played at Freedom where I got recruited to Saint Leo University. While at Saint Leo I learned much more about the sport from amazing coaches such as Brad Jorgenson. While out in Tampa I helped coach with youth programs and HS teams. I eventually found myself on the coaching staff for the Tampa Tribe U-17 Team. When I moved to Orlando for my teaching job is where I got my first coaching gig at Freedom. I was very impressed with our boys at Freedom. In the two years I was there I saw huge growth and I saw my young defense of mainly juniors excel and become leaders as seniors and be extremely competitive. I then pursued my career of one day being a head coach and made the jump to Lake Nona. Goals; As stated to help develop the game in this year and change of the culture of the people. Develop players into TRUE Lacrosse players and develop an extremely competitive team. Lastly my goal has always been developing long lasting relationships with players.
