Miami Killian High School senior and lacrosse team captain Nicholle Galletti signed her National Letter of Intent to play for Mount Olive University in 2014. Nicholle is a standout Middie/Attack for the Lady Cougars. Nicholle has been honored as team MVP and Midfield Player of the Year in 2010, rookie of the year 2010, and Coaches award 2012. Nicholle was named to the All District 1st Team for 2011 & 2012 and All Region 2nd Team as well as All-Dade Team 2012. Nicholle started playing Lacrosse three seasons ago with BDM Lacrosse, and went on to play for the Lax Maniax Club team.
Although Nicholle started playing lacrosse her freshman year in high school, through her determination, heart, and leadership she became Team Captain. She also takes her leadership to the class room, with a grade point average of 4.6. Nicholle joined the swim team this past year and became one of the top swimmers for the 50-meter freestyle.
“Coaches like me get to the point that they can be as proud of some of their players as they are of their own kids. I feel like that about Nicholle. I continue to be impressed about what she has learned and accomplished as a lacrosse player and how much she has unselfishly given back to our program, both on and off the field,” observed Killian Head Coach Herry Block. “By participating in the off-season with the best club programs available in Florida, she has set an example for self-improvement for the whole team. With her enthusiastic attitude and encouragement she has helped us recruit some terrific athletes at Killian into our program. I congratulate her on her decision to attend and play at Mt. Olive College and, although I look forward to a most enjoyable senior season for Nicholle here, I know that our loss next year will be Mt Olive’s indisputable gain.”
