via MLL press release   Cascade Rookie of the Week: Jake Froccaro BOSTON (June 19, 2017) – Chesapeake Bayhawks midfielder Jake Froccaro was named the Cascade Rookie of the Week for Week 9. After a comeback in the second half, the Bayhawks fell to the Charlotte Hounds 15-14 on Friday night. In the second game of his rookie season, the 23-year-old Froccaro scored three goals, the first of which marked the first goal of his professional career. He tallied one assist in his debut last week at Rochester. The Villanova product was Chesapeake’s first-round pick (No. 7 overall) in the 2017 MLL Collegiate Draft. Froccaro’s teammate, Josh Byrne, earned Cascade Rookie of the Week honors last week.   Previous Winners

  Warrior Defensive Player of the Week: Tyler Fiorito BOSTON (June 19, 2017) – Boston Cannons goalie Tyler Fiorito was named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 9. Fiorito and the Cannons became just the second team to beat the Outlaws this season in a 16-9 win. Fiorito, 27, stopped 19 of the 28 shots he faced for a .678 save percentage. He became the first goalie to limit the Outlaws to single-digit goals since then-Boston goalie Jordan Burke on July 4, 2015. Fiorito has made 108 saves on the season, the third-highest total in the league, and has started all eight of Boston’s games. The former Princeton goalie was one save shy of Brian Phipps (215 saves) for the most saves in the league last year. Fiorito last won the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week in Week 14 of last season. Previous Winners

  Warrior Offensive Player of the Week: Joe Walters BOSTON (June 19, 2017) – New York Lizards midfielder Joe Walters was named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week for Week 9. Walters and the Lizards snapped a three-game losing streak with a 13-12 win against Rochester on Saturday night. Walters, 32, scored a season-high six points, with four goals and two assists. His goal midway through the fourth quarter tied the score at 12 and then he picked up the assist on Dave Lawson’s game-winning goal with under a minute to play in regulation. It marked his most points in a game since he had seven points on July 2 last season while playing for Chesapeake against New York. A two-time Steinfeld Trophy winner, Walters is currently tied with Paul Rabil for the most points on the team this season at 24. Walters is the first Lizards player to win the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week in 2017.   Previous Winners
