National Lacrosse Federation Announces NLF Futures at IMG Academy On Jan 16-18

From Press Releases – The National Lacrosse Federation announced today that the NLF Futures Showcase will take place January 16-18, 2016 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The showcase will bring elite lacrosse players from the U.S. and Canada in the classes of 2019, 2020 and 2021 to train with coaches from the top lacrosse clubs, college programs and professional ranks.
Colleges in attendance are scheduled to include Duke, Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Syracuse, Providence, Michigan, Penn State, Cornell, Princeton, Boston University, Brown, Hofstra, Loyola and Penn.
Players will also be coached by pros that include Kyle Hartzell, Mike Chanenchuk, Scott Ratliff, Jordan Wolf, John Galloway, Adam Ghitelman and Kip Turner. Further instruction will be provided by Matt Schomburg (Fogo Lax), Liam Banks (LB3 Lacrosse), Keith Wilford (Wilford Movement), Andy Towers (Former Pro/Ivy League Coach), Jamie Hanford (Eclipse) and Ric Beardsley (Upstate Lacrosse Club) as well as the coaching staffs from the NLF’s founding six members: Baltimore Crabs, Big 4 HHH, Laxachusetts, Leading Edge, Long Island Express and Ninety-One Lacrosse.
The classes of 2020 and 2021 will be invite-only (120 spots each) with the Class of 2019 being an open registration process for the best 200 players. At the NLF Futures event in January, the National Lacrosse Federation staff will select the best 120 players in the Class of 2019 to advance to play at a showcase at Boys’ Latin School (Md.) on June 28-30, 2016.
“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce this landmark event to the lacrosse community,” said NLF Director Sean Morris. “Getting the best high school lacrosse players in the world together in Florida in January to train at IMG Academy’s facilities with the game’s best instructors brings together all the best parts of our sport. This will be the No. 1 training event in the country for players in the Classes of 2019, 2020 and 2021.”
