
Nease’s Tyler Schaffer To Mercer

Nease High School Defender Tyler Schaffer, announced on Friday, August 12th that he has verbally committed to play Division I Lacrosse with Mercer University. This is the culmination of Tyler’s recruitment that had him previously committed to Jacksonville University. “We are incredibly happy for Ty that he was able to find the right academic fit at an outstanding school,” said Nease Head Coach Max Gurowski.
The announcement comes at the end of a busy summer for Schaffer. He competed at the Hotbeds Tournament with Team Florida, represented the state of Florida at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic, and attended a football camp on the prestigious campus of Wake Forest. Tyler is also a starting Defensive End for the defending District Champion Nease Panthers where he was selected as a 1st Team All-County Defender in 2015. Tyler competes for Villages Lacrosse Club (villageslacrosseclub.com) and is a member of Team Florida. Congratulations to Ty and the Schaffer family!
Mercer is located in Macon, Georgia, a member of the Southern Conference, and led by Head Coach Kyle Hannan.
