Franklin Springs, Ga. – Less than 24 hours after receiving its first loss of the season in a physical battle, the 18th– ranked Lynn University lacrosse team rebounded on a sunny Sunday afternoon in northeast Georgia, taking it to Emmanuel College (Ga.) from the very first whistle in a 19-6 nonconference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- The Lynn offense started at an absolutely torrid pace, recording five goals in a two-minute clip to build a 5-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest.
- Austin Jerhoff and Anthony Rainone recorded two goals apiece during the tear, with Ryan Madigan also hitting the back of the net.
- Following a Fighting Knights pushing call, Emmanuel tallied its first of the game on a man-up possession.
- Madigan buried two more to match the rest of Emmanuel’s scoring output in the period and notch the first-quarter hat trick. The Blue & White took a 7-3 edge into the second frame.
- After what was a close contest after the first 15 minutes, a 6-0 run from Lynn throughout the second quarter all but sealed the deal for the visitors.
- Taylor Ferrino, who took over for Pat Brothers between the pipes towards the end of the first quarter, helped both sides of the ball get going in the second. Ferrino made an early stop in net and hit Greg Morrissette on an outlet pass through the midfield, allowing Jerhoff and Mikey Urso to quickly connect to Rainone for an open goal.
- Rainone struck again 19 seconds later, followed by Tyler Hopkins and Urso recorded their first goals of the game to put Lynn up 11-3 at the 9:50 mark.
- After a scoring lapse, Greg Onofri and Urso put away unassisted goals in the final minute of the half to put Lynn up by 10, 13-3.
- The Lions immediately opened up the second-half scoring, but Lynn shut down any sort of momentum from building.
- Lynn closed out the third quarter with three unanswered goals, including two from Hopkins and Johnny Gavin‘s first of the game.
- The duo collaborated for Lynn’s 16th goal of the day. Gavin found Hopkins cutting across the middle, who slung it into the back of the net in highlight-reel fashion to secure his first career hat trick.
- The Fighting Knights were able to filter nearly the entire roster onto the field in the final period for live action.
- Jacob Van Leenen started off the scoring in the fourth on an individual effort following an out-of-bounds ball behind the net.
- Angelo Beacon-Paglia then took on an Emmanuel defender in isolation, hitting the twine for the sophomore’s first career goal in the Blue & White.
- Lynn capped its offensive onslaught at the 7:59 mark. Onofri burst through the zone off a clean faceoff win and dished it over to Austin Shircliff for an outside strike.
- Rainone led a contingent of 10 Lynn scorers, putting away four first-half goals to notch a season-high. The senior also dished an assist.
- Hopkins and Madigan followed up with hat tricks, while Jerhoff and Urso rounded out the Fighting Knights with multi-goal games. Peter Masters was the only player with more than one helper on the day.
- Christopher Lasprogata and Onofri both came away with 12 faceoff wins, helping Lynn go 24-of-29 at the X for the game. Lasprogata collected a game-high six groundballs.
- Ferrino recorded six saves, two groundballs and a caused turnover in his first extended action of the season.
- Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of the team winning its first-ever game at Lynn’s Bobby Campbell Stadium, which was also a large-margin victory over Emmanuel.
- Lynn’s 19 goals, 12 assists, 58 shots, 41 groundballs and 24 caused turnovers were all season-highs.
- Rainone has nine total goals in his two career games against the Lions.
