On August 2-3, St. Joseph’s Academy will be hosting the inaugural Ancient City Girls Invitational to benefit the One Love Foundation.
This event will feature teams from around the state of Florida as well as surrounding states battling it out under the sun in a 7v7, 45 minute games with a short field format all officiated by US Lacrosse Certified referees.
High school and middle school age brackets will be available. Numerous vendors will be on site showcasing the latest gear and accessories. Team fee is $850 and individual “free agent” spots are $75 each for those without a club team. JU players will be available to coach teams in need as well as offer skills clinics and demonstrations.
The One Love Foundation was established in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Reynolds Love. Its purpose is to end relationship violence through education and technology. The “One” represents the number Yeardley wore on her jersey during her high school and college lacrosse career. The number has since been retired by the University of Virginia in her memory.
