In a battle of Hillsborough County heavyweights Monday night HB Plant High School traveled to Newsome High School to kick off the 2016 lacrosse season. In a back and forth battle, Plant HS, led by senior attackman Henry Brannan’s 6 goals held on for a 12 – 10 victory. Senior Attackman Danny Carlson helped Plant with the scoring with 1 goal and 4 assists. Sophomore Goalie Jack Schifino held off a furious Newsome comeback with 12 saves. Up next for Plant will be a Thursday night games versus Robinson HS, and a Friday night contest versus a very strong Steinbrenner HS.
