Play Off Schedule Set for Florida Lacrosse League Championship

The playoffs are to be held at Apopka Northwest Rec Fields 3710 Jason Dwelley Pkwy, Apopka, Fl The Florida Lacrosse League has been around for 31 years.  It is a state-wide post-collegiate lacrosse league.  There are some very talented players in the league, including a handful of current and former professionals over the years.   The season runs from October-March and is concluded with an 8-team championship bracket. Lauderdale Flamingos 3:00 PM (1) Treasure Coast Scorpions vs. (8) Orlando Geckos (2) Dade LC vs. (8) Miami LC Sunday 3/10 11:00 AM Semifinals 1:30 PM Championship Preview by Seed: 1. Treasure Coast Scorpions (10-1) – Treasure Coast is the northern most of the southern conference teams.  In their 4th year in the league they have gone on quite a tear, downing last year’s champion Dade LC in the regular season.  Their lone loss a 13-10 decision to #4 Jacksonville. 2. Dade LC (10-1) – Dade Lacrosse Club out of Dade Count is in it’s 3rd year of existence and has two FLL Championship Trophies to show for it (2011 & 2012).   Their lone blemish was a 12-9 loss to Treasure Coast. 3. LC Hogtowne (9-2) – Hogtowne’s official home is Gainesville as a large portion of their team are UF Alum.  They take the #3 seed, having lost to Dade 13-9 and to Treasure Coast in OT in the regular season.  Hogtowne was the last team to claim the FLL Title prior to Dade’s back to back championships. 4.  Jacksonville Armadillos (9-2) – Jacksonville also boasts a 9-2 record, with a key victory over #1 Treasure Coast, but lost head to head to Hogtowne.  Their other loss this season was to Dade LC by 1. 5.  Ft. Lauderdale Flamingos (7-4) – Fort Lauderdale grabs the 5 seed after finishing runners up or champion 6 of the last 7 years. 6.  Tampa Thunder (6-5) Tampa one a slew of tight games this year to secure the #6 seed. 7.  Miami Lacrosse Club (4-7) Miami takes the #7 seed and will face south Fla neighbord Dade in the opening round. 8. Orlando Geckos (4-7) The playoff host Geckos make the playoffs for the second year in a row.
