District 25 – Oxbridge hosts Oxbridge vs Cardinal Newman Wellington vs Palm Beach Central Oxbridge outscored the three teams 55-13 This is Oxbridge all the way   District 26 – Boca Raton hosts Saint Andrew’s vs American Heritage/Boca SJP II vs Boca Raton SJP II finished strong and Boca did not.  SJP won the first game by 3 at Boca.  Another close game on tap.  SJP had a sneaky good year. But as always, there’s the final path over on Jog Road and it’s been since before I moved to Florida that SJP won that game.  SA goes on.   District 27 – Pine Crest hosts Pine Crest vs Cardinal Gibbons Stoneman Douglas vs North Broward Prep Congrats to NBP for getting back to the district playoff but that’s as far as it goes.  PC has a fantastic record but didn’t come close to playing Stoneman’s schedule.  It will be close for a while but Stoneman pulls away to win this one.   District 28 – St. Thomas hosts STA vs South Plantation University vs American Heritage/Plantation The gap is narrowing between AH/P and STA but this isn’t the year the lines intersect. The defending state champs go on to the brackets.   District 29 – Pembroke Pines hosts Archbishop McCarthy vs Western-Davie Cooper City vs West Broward Cooper City is one of the biggest surprises this season.  Cypress Bay is the biggest disappointment. But Archbishop McCarthy has the best win of the season for anyone in this district.  The confidence from their late season should carry them through   District 30 – Columbus hosts Belen Jesuit vs Miami Country Day Ransom Everglades vs Columbus Catholic As the season went on Belen started to assert themselves and they finished the year strong.  The Columbus Catholic program has fallen on hard times but did hold Belen to a 4-2 victory.  Their home field will cause Belen trouble with this long time rivalry in all sports. Belen should ride their late season surge to victory here.   District 31 – Gulliver hosts Gulliver Prep vs Miami-Killian Miami Palmetto vs Coral Reef Miami-Palmetto almost shocked GP at Gulliver last week.  Can’t believe that GP didn’t learn from that one. GP moves on but Palmetto might give them another scare.   District 32 – Key West hosts Key West vs Florida Christian Westminster Christian vs Coral Shores Key West ran through everyone this year and that will continue   That leaves the following first round matchups   Oxbridge vs SA Stoneman Douglas vs STA Archbishop McCarthy vs Belen Jesuit Gulliver Prep vs Key West
