Thanks to Chris Fantaccione, Lacrosse Program Coordinator – FAU, for the press release
Florida Atlantic University’s men’s lacrosse club is pleased to announce that Randy Davis has been named its head coach for the 2015-2016 academic year. Davis previously held the position of Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the club, and also served as head coach of FAU’s women’s lacrosse club for three seasons.
Prior to joining the FAU lacrosse program, Davis had been the Head Coach of men’s lacrosse at Florida International University. He also coached boy’s varsity lacrosse at the Pine School in Hobe Sound and at Jupiter High School. Davis also has coached various boy’s and girl’s travel/elite lacrosse teams as well as youth teams through the Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association.
A Maryland native, Davis’s playing experience includes collegiate lacrosse at Salisbury State University as well as post-collegiate competition as a member of the Maryland Lacrosse Club, Baltimore Lacrosse Club, Mount Washington Lacrosse Club, and Palm Beach Lacrosse Club in Florida.
Chris Fantaccione, Assistant Coach and Director of Operations for FAU Lacrosse, said that Davis’s passion for and knowledge of the sport made him the obvious choice to take the helm of the men’s program. “It’s rare that a club team has the opportunity to hire a coach with Coach Davis’s experience and level of commitment toward building a successful program,” he added.
FAU’s men’s lacrosse club is a member of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) and the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC).
FAU opens their season this Saturday at home against Auburn at 3:00pm on Henderson Field on the FAU campus.
