Rollins Names LHP’s Clay Phillips Team Captain

Lake Highland Prep’s Clay Phillips and California’s Jack Vonarb will lead the Tars this season WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 11, 2015) – Rollins lacrosse head coach Chris Lewis has announced the captains for the 2016 season, selecting juniors Clay Phillips and Jack Vonarb to lead the Tars. “We felt as a staff that Jack and Clay best demonstrated the core values, on and off the field, that we promote as the foundation of the lacrosse program.” Vonarb enters his third season with the Tars and first as a captain. The attackman earned First Team All-SSC honors in both 2014 and 2015 after heading the Tars’ offense. The Thousand Oaks, Cali. native led the team in goals for the second straight season, recording 24 last year and 33 in 2014. He also collected 14 assists last year, second best on the team. After spending two seasons attending and playing for Boston University, Phillips returns to his hometown to join the Tars and continue his athletic career. Phillips served as an assistant captain during the Terriers inaugural season, appearing in all 14 games as a freshman where he recorded five goals and four assists. Phillips played in two games during his sophomore season before suffering a season ending injury.
