Rollins begins their 2015 season with 7 grueling games on the road before coming home to familiar territory on March 10th.  That road series includes defending National Champion Limestone and defending SSC Champion Tampa.  Head Coach RJ Rossi said of the schedule, “We’ll jump right into some uncomfortable challenges and mature quickly.” A big factor in winning tough road games is strong defense and Rollins has put some solid pieces together defensively for this season.  A pair of  senior defensemen, Connor Ronan and Jake Flynn,  bring experience and talent to that position.  Ronan is the team Captain and provides leadership while Flynn had a break-out year in 2014 starting all 15 games and compiling a team high 28 caused turnovers and picking up 27 ground balls.  Boone High School’s Connor McClellan returns for his sophomore season after a huge freshman year.  Connor started all 15 games as a freshman causing 26 turnovers and picking up a team high 49 ground balls.  Look for another Florida freshman to have an impact this year.  6’4″ Zach Gerry out of Episcopal Jacksonille has impressed this fall and should see ample time in the rotation. The Tars are facing a challenge up front this season replacing the offensive leadership of Jack Deaver.  Look for Nick Schultz to have an increased role in the attack.  Adam Stefanowicz, who started 4 games last year and saw action in 11 is going to be a much bigger part of the attack this season.  We expect freshman Jeremy Slocumb out of Cypress, Texas to round out that starting attack unit.  Of course, the biggest scoring threat on the 2014 Rollins team came in with the midfield and really caused some match up problems.  Jack Vonarb returns after his 33 goal outing as a freshman last season.   On the midfield the Tars also return SSC 1st team F/O specialist Alex Petsos. Once the Tars make it home they host a pair of North Eastern teams, Mercy (NY) and Saint Michael’s (VT) as well as conference foe Florida Southern and Adams State (CO) in a four game home stretch.  The home schedule also includes SSC opponent Saint Leo and wraps up with a game against Colorado Mesa.
