Rollins up to #5, FSC Makes Top Ten In IWLCA DII Poll

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 14, 2016) – Rolling through the first portion of their 2016 schedule with an unbeaten record of 6-0, the Rollins women’s lacrosse team comes in on the latest IWLCA DII Coaches Poll earning their highest ranking of the season, checking in at No. 5, organization officials announced Monday. The Tars make the climb to fifth from their previous ranking of sixth, which they have been holding steady at since the preseason poll announced on February 1. The Adelphi University Panthers continue to sit atop the poll after opening up their campaign with a 3-0 mark, earning all 20 first place votes once again on this week’s rankings.  Le Moyne (3-0) and Lindenwood (7-0) remain at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, while LIU Post (3-1) takes over the No. 4 slot after sitting fifth last week. Rollins checks into the top five for the first time this season, while New Haven drops from fourth to sixth with a record of 2-1.  Lock Haven (4-0) and West Chester (4-0) both climb one spot to No. 7 and No. 8, while Grand Valley State (2-3) jumps from No. 11 to ninth this week. Florida Southern (5-2) also makes a jump, advancing two slots to sit tenth, while Mercyhurst (3-1) drops one position to No. 11.  Limestone (5-1) makes the biggest change, falling from seventh to 12th this week after sitting in the top ten all season. Dowling (3-1), Queens (5-1), and Stonehill (1-1), check in at 13th-15th, respectively, while Regis (4-1) climbs two spots to No. 16.  Seton Hill (1-3), Bentley (1-2), Mount Olive (7-2), and St. Anselm (1-0) round out the top 20 in successive order, while Indiana University of Pennsylvania receives votes.
