With a week between games, Seminole (7-2), was itching to play someone other than themselves, when they traveled to Winter Park (5-4) on Friday night. The Wildcats were looking to rebound from a lose 2 days early at the hands of Lake Highland Prep. Unlike the Seminoles last game, they got off to a quick starting, taking a 5-1 lead midway through the 1st quarter. They were lead by Ryan Ormerods’ ( Wingate) 3 goals and Bennett Osterinks 2 goals. But Winter Park fought back scoring on the man advantage and closed the gap to 5-3 to end the quarter. The teams traded 2 goals apiece in the 2nd quarter to make the score at the half 7-5 Seminole. Bennett Osterink completed his hat trick for the Noles, as did Thatcher Clark ( Mount Olive) for the Wildcats. Seminole started the 3rd quarter just like they started the game and scored early and often. They scored 4 quick goals within the first 4 minutes, 2 of which coming from Ormerod ( bringing his total to 5) and jumped back out to a 11-5 lead. But Winter Park would not go away, the rebound with 3 goals of their own and set up an exciting 4th quarter, with the score 11-8 Noles. But as with their previous game, the Seminole defense stepped up in the 4th quarter and shutout the Wildcats the rest of the way. Alex Proly ( North Greenville) finished of the scoring for Seminole with a laser that popped the strings off the net, to make the final score 12-8. Seminole gain possesion with about 4 minutes left and just held the ball to record their 2nd straight road win and 8th of the year. The Wildcats get back to action on Monday, 3/16, when they travel to Freedom and look to get back in the Win colunm. Seminole takes the Spring Break off and doesn’t play again until a home game against Hagerty on Tuesday, 3/24.
