Having had the pleasure to get to know Ted DiSalvo during the end of his high school run, I have followed his career with interest. Last night I had the pleasure of watching Washington College upset the defending national champion Stevenson 12-11 in a thrilling game. At Team Florida tryouts five years ago he was the lone Spanish River player. Ted jumped in with enthusiasm, learned his teammates names in short order (it’s a two day and done team) and urged them on, no matter what age. From there he committed to and subsequently enrolled in Washington College, starting the last two years and earning numerous awards. Ted stepped up big time in last night’s upset on the road as Stevenson had never lost at home in ten previous NCAA games. In addition to his 17 saves Ted picked up four ground balls and Washington was successful on 26 of 27 clears. He is off to graduate school in Scotland next year, but in the meantime, good luck this weekend against Salisbury!
