In the second annual Lax Vs Cancer event at the University of Tampa the Spartans raised $6250 and gave us a great look at some of the teams we’ll be watching this spring.  The Sunday began early with the campers at the University of Tampa prospect camp taking on the West Florida Lacrosse Club team. Three Sunshine State Conference teams and three of Florida’s MCLA teams participated in the event and the $6250 total is likely to rise as the numbers come in from all the participants. We had a great chance to watch and put together some previews on four of the six teams.  Our apologies to USF and UF as our schedule didn’t give us a chance to see them play.  But we will put together previews on these teams before the fall is over. The event is going to get even better next year as the main stadium at University of Tampa, Pepin Rood, is getting a new turf field installed and games will be held on that field as well.  IMG National has committed to the Lax Vs Cancer event for next fall as well.
