via press release   Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Cody Martin / Florida Tech / Sr. / Attack / Middletown, Maryland Martin has been named the Offensive Player of the Week after he led the Florida Tech in a win over RV Rollins 12-8 to secure the No. 2 seed in the SSC Championship. The Middletown, Maryland native had four shots on goal and scored each time including a man-up goal. Martin also caused a turnover and picking up a ground ball in the Panther victory. Florida Tech finishes the regular season 7-6 and 3-2 in conference play.. Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Collin McClelland / Lynn University / Fr. / Goalkeeper / Ellicott, Maryland McClelland earns the Defensive Player of the Week award after he matched his career-best 66.7 save percentage in goal against Florida Southern. The Ellicott, Maryland native helped his team clinch a playoff berth as they took down the Moccasins 11-8 on Saturday. The Freshman made 16 saves on the 44 shots he faced and also picked up two ground balls. The Fighting Knights finish the regular season 6-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Men’s Lacrosse Specialist of the Week Dryden Brous / Lynn University / Fr. / Faceoff / Ocean City, Maryland Brous is awarded his fourth Specialist Player of the Week, third consecutive, after going 15-of-20 (75 percent) in the faceoff X during the playoff clinching 11-8 victory over Florida Southern. The Ocean City, Maryland native also picked up a game-high eight ground balls and recorded his fourth assist in the last three games. The freshman has an average of 16 faceoff wins and nine ground balls over the final three games of the regular season. The Fighting Knights finish the regular season with an overall record of 6-6 and 2-3 in conference play. ===== Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Allie Modica / Florida Tech / Sr. / Midfield / Vero Beach, Florida Modica has been named Offensive Player of the Week after netting three goals and dishing out one assist as the Panthers defeat No. 6 Rollins 14-10 and earn the No. 2 seed in the SSC tournament. The Vero Beach, Florida native also collected three draw controls and picked up two ground balls as FIT secured their second over a top-10 team in program history. The Panthers finish the 2017 regular season with a 12-2 overall record and a 3-1 in conference record. Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Olivia Going / Florida Tech / Fr. / Defender / West Islip, New York Going is awarded the Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Panthers defeat No. 6 Rollins 14-10 and earn the No. 2 seed in the SSC tournament. The West Islip, New York native was apart of a defensive effort that limited the Tars to just two second half goals as they outscored Rollins 9-2 in that half. The Panthers finish the 2017 regular season with a 12-2 overall record and a 3-1 in conference record.
