St. Thomas and LHP Unanimous Numbers 1& 2 In the Al Packer Ford Coaches Poll

– St. Thomas remains perfect at 11-0. This past week they defeated Benjamin, Barrron Collier and they won a big game against Lake Mary 12-6 on Friday night.
- LHP defeated Winter Park during the voting week and have since beat Bishop Moore this week. They are now at 10-2 and will face Saint Andrews on Saturday after winning 5 in a row and 9 of their last ten.
– Ponte Vedra finished just two points ahead of Jupiter in the voting this week. They are now 12-2 after falling to #4 Jupiter during the voting week. They followed that up with a win over Gulliver Prep 16-8 and will face Bishop Moore next week.
– Jupiter upset the number three team PV (if you can call #4 over #3 an upset- two darn good teams going at it!) and beat St. Ed’s as well as Martin County. They have Barron Collier on Saturday. It’s interesting that our top four teams actually could be the final four teams the way the brackets work out.
– Lake Mary has been steady at 5 or 6 all season. They beat Lake Brantley and Boca last week and suffered their second loss of the season last night to our number one team, St. Thomas. They finish up with Lyman, Lake Highland Prep, Bolles, and Lambert.
– SA rocketed up to number 5 last week after upsetting Jupiter. They followed that up with a win over Boca and a loss to IMG. A win over Lake Highland on Saturday would certainly send them up the poll even farther.7- Vero Beach has quietly put together a 10-1 season so far with recent wins over Martin County, Pope, and St. Ed’s, and Spanish River on Friday. They have Jupiter looming in the not-so-distant future. That’s certainly an opportunity for them to finish way up the poll.
- Douglas is putting together a great season now at 11-1 with their only loss to #4 Jupiter. They defeated University School, Taravella, and Ransom last week. They face West Boca next week which could be their 10th straight win.
- Barron Collier fell to 8-2 after losing to STA and beating Gulliver Prep. They face #4 Jupiter on Saturday at home.
- Seminole High School has been in and out of the top ten this season. They beat both Dr. Phillips and Winter Park last week and with a Boca loss last week they were the natural choice to move back up.
Keep an eye on Buchholz. They are now 12-1 including a big win in the final seconds against a very good Tampa Jesuit team and a win over Oak Hall to take control of District 2. If somebody at 6-10 stumbles this week I expect them to move right up into the poll.
