Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Barron Collier jumped into the fire at St. Thomas and gave a scare to one the top programs in the state. Both teams coming in unbeaten, but with different level of schedules. The Cougars had not been tested and being young, were expected to fold under the pressure. That did not happen. STA jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead (Not sure who scored them Brian) before Barron Collier C Sophmore Austin Miller opened up the scoring for the Cougars with a bullet from 12 yards out. BC’s Sophomore Goalie Zach Woods withstood a barrage of shots to send it the half with STA holding a 5-2 lead. The Raiders scored a quick goal to open the 2nd half, before back to back goals by BC’s Matt Ihm made it 7-4. RJ Curtain scored again for STA to make it 8-4, before BC got goals from Sophs Drew Goodrich and Miller again to close it to 8-6. It remained there until STA scored three late goals for the final margin.
