Facing a 13-1 Martin County team, the Fighting Indians surged to a 4-0 lead in the opening 2:45 of the game and never looked back, knocking off the Tigers 16-4 for its 138th consecutive in-state win. “It’s something we needed to do, especially after the last couple of games,” said Vero Beach head coach Shannon Dean, referring to the team’s slow starts against Lake Highland Prep and Milton (Ga.) last week. “It just seemed like the game started and we got punched in the mouth and that’s something we’ve been trying to break this year, getting out to a quick start.”   Read the rest at the web site . . .
