(Tampa, FL – July 19, 2013) Area lacrosse teams squared off this week at the West Florida Lacrosse Tampa Team Tournament. Held at the University of Tampa’s Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex, regional teams representing areas North, East, and South of Tampa competed earlier this week for the title of T3 champion.
Led by coach Brian Lemon, the U15 boys East team remained undefeated winning all four games to beat South for the championship title. The East team, comprised mainly of Tampa Elite’s U13 and U15 squads, included Tanner Anthony, Christian Avalos, Daniel Brownell, A.C. Cordero, Landon Crews, Jett Davis, Max Griffith, Clark Flessner, Jake Lemon, Sean McClelland, Joe McGonnigal, Noah Sexton, Chandler Rustin, Palmer Viera, Caleb Ward, and Jack Watson.Sponsored by Deep South Lacrosse, the tournament was organized by University of Tampa’s Assistant Lacrosse Coach, Chris Burdick. “Our vision for West Florida Lacrosse is to support and promote the growth and development of all levels of lacrosse in and around Tampa. The T3 Championships showed how much talent exists in the area. It was a thrill to see all of these great players and coaches on the same field!” Burdick is the director of West Florida Lacrosse, a division of 24 Lacrosse. Tryouts for Tampa Elite girls and boys teams will be held in December. Check back this Fall for more details. www.tampaelitelacrosse.com
