GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women’s lacrosse team (5-1) will wrap up a stretch of four games in nine days on Tuesday, as No. 5 Syracuse (7-1) is set to visit Gainesville.
The opening draw is set for 1 P.M. from Donald R. Dizney Stadium. A live stream of the game will be available via YouTube, with Daniel Gillman and Connor Buckridge on the call.
No. 3 Florida vs. No. 5 Syracuse Live Stream
No. 3 Florida enters Tuesday’s tilt winners of five straight games, including three ranked opponents: No. 3 Southern California, No. 16 Towson, and No. 7 Stony Brook. Florida has been balanced offensively through the first six games of the season, as four Gators have between 22 and 28 points (Sammi Burgess, Shayna Pirreca, Sydney Pirreca, and Mollie Stevens). Stevens also leads the team with 38 draw controls. Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Hicklen has anchored the Gator defense, with 50 saves and a .481 save percentage this season.
After posting a 7-0 record to start the season, No. 5 Syracuse dropped its first game of the season to No. 1 Maryland on Saturday, March 11, 17-7. Junior attacker Riley Donahue (13 goals, 11 assists) and freshman goalkeeper Asa Goldstock (58 saves, .472 save percentage) lead the Orange.
Offensive Explosion
The Gators scored a season-high 22 goals against Stony Brook on March 11, including a career-high seven from senior attacker Mollie Stevens. Stony Brook came into the contest ranked third in the NCAA in only allowing 6.4 goals per game, with a previous high of just 10 goals allowed.
