UF: #3 Gators Host #7 Seawolves In Third Top-10 Tilt

via press release – photo via UF web site   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women’s lacrosse team (4-1) returns home after playing three away games to take on the No. 7 Stony Brook Seawolves (5-0) on Saturday afternoon. The opening draw is set for 1 P.M. from Donald R. Dizney Stadium. A live stream of the game will be available via YouTube, with Jonathan Acosta and Connor Buckridge on the call. No. 3 Florida vs. No. 7 Stony Brook Live Stream After dropping its season opener to North Carolina, No. 3 Florida has reeled off four straight victories, including two over ranked opponents: No. 3 Southern California and No. 16 Towson. Offensively, the Gators are led by senior attacker Sammi Burgess(12 goals, 10 assists), junior attacker Shayna Pirreca (17 goals, two assists), and senior attacker Mollie Stevens (14 goals, four assists, 28 draw controls). Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Hicklen has been the anchor of the Florida defense with 45 saves and a .517 save percentage through five games. No. 7 Stony Brook enters Saturday’s game undefeated, with wins over ranked foes No. 17 Towson and No. 12 Northwestern. Junior attacker Kylie Ohlmiller (21 goals, 16 assists) and sophomore goalkeeper Anna Tesoriero (38 saves, .543 save percentage) lead the Seawolves. Dominant Defense In Florida’s past two games, the Gator defense has given up just 5.5 goals per game, and only allowed opponents to attempt 16 shots per contest. Florida has outscored its opponents by 17 goals during those two games. Head Coach Amanda O’Leary: “Florida versus Stony Brook has historically always been a great game.
