GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women’s lacrosse team (10-2, 4-0) will look to start a perfect 5-0 in BIG EAST play on Saturday, as they host the Cincinnati Bearcats (5-7, 1-3).
Florida and Cincinnati will be meeting for the fourth time, with the Gators holding a 3-0 advantage in the series. Last season, a six-point performance from Lindsey Ronbeck led the Gators to a 17-5 victory at Cincinnati.
The opening draw is set for 12 P.M. from Donald R. Dizney Stadium. A live stream of the game will be available via YouTube, with Ryan Urquhart and Connor Buckridge on the call.
No. 3 Florida vs. Cincinnati Live Stream
No. 3 Florida ranks first in the BIG EAST in scoring offense (16.25), and has outscored its first four conference opponents by 41 goals. Four Gators have scored at least 45 points this season (Sammi Burgess, Shayna Pirreca, Lindsey Ronbeck, and Mollie Stevens). Florida is the only team in the NCAA to have four players with at least 45 points.
The Gator defense has limited 10 out of 12 opponents under their season scoring average in 2017. Taylor Bresnahan and Caroline Fitzgerald have each caused 17 turnovers to anchor the Gators’ defensive efforts. Sophomore Haley Hicklen has recorded 105 saves and a .491 save percentage in her first season as a starter.
Cincinnati has the BIG EAST’s second highest-scoring offense (13.17), and is coming off an 11-9 loss to Temple. Freshman attacker Monica Borzillo (32 goals, 31 assists) leads the Bearcats, and is one of only four players in the NCAA with 30 goals and 30 assists this season.
