UT Women: Hawks Fly Over Spartans 17-10

  • Saint Anselm opened the game with the first goal at 28:19.
  • Tampa wasted no time to respond back with a goal from freshman Claire Swanson, assisted by Amanda Rom.
  • The Falcons scored four goals to bring the score up to 5-1 with 20:38 left in the first half.
  • Tampa scored their second goal less than a minute later with a goal from Rachel Crawford, assisted by Rom, her second of the game.
  • Another round of goals from Saint Anselm made the score 10-2 over Tampa.
  • Allie Popelar fired back at 6:38 to make the score 10-3, Saint Anselm.
  • The final goal of the half came from Caroline Forester, assisted by Rachel Crawford.
2nd Half
  • Tampa scored the first goal of the half with Swanson, assisted by Carly Vaccaro.
  • The Falcons score two to take a 12-5 lead.
  • Crawford strikes at 19:02, assisted by Maggie Gladden.
  • Another goal from Tampa, senior Amanda Voges decreased the Falcon lead to 12-7.
  • Saint Anselm tallied one more goal at 17:08.
  • Gladden with an unassisted goal two minutes later decreases the lead.
  • Natalie Carraway with 14:24 left in the game made the score 13-9 Falcons.
  • The Falcons score to now make it 14-9.
  • Crawford with her first goal of the game scores the final goal for Tampa.
  • Saint Anselm scored three more goals to take the win 17-10.
INSIDE THE STATS:
  • Crawford led the team in points today with three goals and one assist. She also snagged two groundballs, two draw controls, and one caused turnover. 
  • Swanson had two goals, one ground ball, and two draw controls. 
  • Emily Stevenson led the team in groundballs today, with three.
  • Shannon Sweeney led in caused turnovers, with two.
