WINTER PARK, Fla. – The women’s lacrosse team opened their season on the road against Rollin’s College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Period
- Allie Popelar with the season opening goal at 12:06, put Tampa on the board with the score at 1-5.
- Freshman, Claire Swanson scored her first goal of the game with 4:57 left on the clock, she was assisted by Natalie Carraway.
- Carly Vaccaro was assisted by Rachel Crawford with 2:22 on the clock to make the score 3-10 in the final minutes of the first half.
- The Spartans headed into the second period with Rollins leading 13-3.
- Only seconds into the second period, Popelar was assisted by Amanda Rom to bring the score to 4-13.
- At 27:21 Swanson fired again for her second goal of the game with an assist from Maggie Gladden.
- Senior Amanda Voges was assisted by Crawford for her first goal this season with 22:40 on the clock. Tampa trailing 6-17.
- Swanson scored her first goal as a Spartan and two in today’s match-up against the Tars.
- Popelar also scored two goals in the seaon opener today.
- Vaccaro an Rogues had a goal each.
- Mackenzie Hackett had five saves in goal.
