
Wayne Macuirzynski Named New Head Coach at Buccholz

Wayne “Coach Mac” Macuirzynski is the new Buchholz High School Boys Lacrosse HEAD coach starting in the Fall of 2013. Coach Mac played four years of lacrosse as a starter at Yorktown HS, Yorktown, NY, having graduated in 1974. Yorktown High School is well known for its national lacrosse ranking and continues to have a nationally ranked high school lacrosse team. During Wayne’s high school years, the lacrosse team won 45 games IN A ROW. Coach Mac was recruited and attended the University of New Haven (in West Haven, Connecticut, where he graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice). He played Division II lacrosse as a starting midfielder and goalie. For the past seven years, Coach Mac coached varsity lacrosse at Danbury High School in Danbury, Connecticut and then retired and moved to Alachua, Florida. For the past year, Coach Mac was the assistant varsity lacrosse coach under Coach Reed Reynolds at Buchholz High School. He coached the Buchholz 2012 Fall Ball team, the Buchholz 2013 Spring team (regular season), and the Lacrosse Club of Gainesville 2013 summer league team. Coach Mac is committed to the continued success of the Buchholz High School lacrosse program and its players. He is a huge proponent of instilling in the players good sportsmanship along with maintaining a high academic standard. The players will be reminded that they represent Buchholz High School both on and off the field. Play hard and smart. Turn frustration into positive energy for you and your teammates.
