via Launch press release   Moving on from last week’s road loss, the Launch are looking to get back in the win column this Saturday, July 1 against the Atlanta Blaze. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on Twitter as the MLL Game of the Week. In the second meeting with the Blaze, the Launch are hoping to regain momentum and make franchise history against the Blaze. With a win against Atlanta, the Launch would have six victories and three sweeps this season, two new franchise records. “A lot of us have the same formula. You’ve got to be smart with the ball. You’ve got to capitalize on the opportunities that present themselves. We’ve got to limit their pure clean looks. We’ve got to make them work and learn,” said coach Tom Mariano to Lax Sports Network. Going into Saturday’s matchup, Kieran McArdle looks to keep his scoring streak alive for the Launch, scoring at least three points in each of the five games he’s appeared in this season.  McArdle is currently averaging 4.8 points a game and leads the team in points (24) and goals (19). In his last meeting with Atlanta, the team’s point-leader dropped an impressive eight points (7G, 1A) to help lift the Launch to victory. The Launch will have an added boost moving into Saturday’s game with the addition of Denver’s Tim Barber to the lineup. Barber, a sixth round pick in the 2016 MLL Collegiate Draft, appeared in 16 games for the Outlaws since his league debut. The dynamic midfielder was brought over in a trade deadline day deal in exchange for a third round pick in next year’s draft. He brings championship experience to the Launch as he won the Steinfeld Trophy with his former team last season. “I’ve been impressed by Timmy Barber since high school to OCC to Syracuse. He’s done a nice job with Denver. I just really like his game, and I think his game translates well to our style and who we want to be. The opportunity came up and we felt like it was something we had to do,” said Mariano. Rookie Dylan Molloy continues to climb the points leaderboard for the Launch, currently sitting in fourth with 11 points behind veterans Connor Buczek (20), Chazz Woodson (23), and McArdle. In last week’s matchup, Molloy, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, tallied a hat trick and an assist. Between the pipes, goalie Austin Kaut currently leads the league in saves (170) and save percentage (.586). Last weekend, Kaut saved 14 out of the 28 shots he faced from the Charlotte Hounds. The Launch return to FAU Stadium on July 15 to take on the Chesapeake Bayhawks. At halftime of the game, the Launch will honor lacrosse legend and former player Casey Powell by retiring his No. 22.
