Wellington Holds On to Beat Ransom Everglades 13-11

Finally beginning play after a hour long rain delay, Wellington jumped out to an early lead with 1st period goals by attackmen Patrick Oporto (on a fast break with an assist by defender Chris Englert) and goals by a dodging, diving, senior scorer, Tyler Kuhlman. Middie Thomas Oporto added 2 rips for goals. The Wolverines led at the half 10-4. The Raiders however; came out in the second half pumped and ready to fight. Scoring on defensive turnovers, the Raiders ended the 3rd period behind by one goal. Wellington junior attackman Jason D’Aoust added 2 crucial scores at the end of the 4th quarter to win it for the Wolverines bringing their record to 8-2. Tyler Kuhlman led all socrers with four goals and an assist. Final Score Wellington 13 Ransom Everglades 11.
The Wolverines take on cross town rival Palm Beach Central (7-3) Friday for the annual Outback Cup game. Ransom Everglades (5-4) takes on Virginia’s Lake Braddock (0-0) on March 28th.
