Wellington Holds On to Beat TKA 10-9

The Wolverines came in limping to the Lion’s Kahlert Field Tuesday night with several injuries including Attackman Patrick Oporto and Defensiveman Chris Englert. The Lions took advantage with a 2-0 lead, then Jason D’Aoust (Saint Leo) and the Wolverines caught a spark, with D’Aoust touching the next six of eight goals (4-2-6) and the Wolverines taking an 8-4 lead into the half. At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, D’Aoust rolled his ankle and was forced to leave the game adding to the Wolverine injuries. The Lions fought back to the last minute where they had closed the gap with the final score being 10-9 in favor of Wellington. Defensive Kudos goes to Chad Moye with 8 forced turnovers and an assist, and 17 saves for Logan Masta. D’Aoust led the offensive charge with 4-2, with Matt Albers, Michael Costello, Zac Meskin, Chris Sullivan, Logan Rogers, and Felipe Caro each scoring a goal.
