Spanish River traveled to Wellington on Tuesday night for a District 21 vs. District 20 match up. The visiting Lady Sharks kept the score close in the first half before the Wellington Wolverines pulled away late in the first half with goals by Olivia DiCarlantonio (Ohio State) and Gabby Klyotskin. At the end of the first half, the score was 12-4; the final was 17-5.
Leading the Wolverines: Gabby klyotskin – 6 goals, 1 assist; Olivia Dicalantoni – 5 goals, 1 assist; Natalie Kelly – 3 goals, and Kathleen Gerrits – 3 goals.
Leading the Sharks: Georgie Danks with 2 goals; Liz Musinsky with 1 goal; Claire Dykas with 1 goal, 1 assist; and Lauren Appelbaum with 1 goal.
Today Spanish River is at St. Andrews to commence their in-district play. This is the season opener for the Lady Scots and new head coach Meaghan Hanley (Vermont 2008). Wellington hosts Cardinal Gibbons (District 24) today as well.
